Penguins Gear Up For Game 2 Against the Lightning

Word got out that Marty St. Louis had a couple root canals after Game 1 courtesy of a Michalek stick to the face.  Good for him, I could never stand that annoying little midget anyways.

Anyways, St. Louis has promised he will score a goal in Game 2, which would be the Lightning's first of the playoffs since Marc-Andre Fleury stonewalled them in Game 1.

The Penguins have to stick to the old cliche:  Play your game.  In Game 1, they were more physical than the Lightning, they made the most of their opportunities, and they had better goaltending.  Dwayne Roloson played good but not good enough.

The Pens D was almost as solid as Fleury was, proving that Ray Shero is indeed a genius.  Paul Martin and Michalek were brought in for this time of year, not for the regular season.  Zibby is a true shutdown defenseman while Martin's passing ability is second to none at his position.

Big ups too to James Neal and Alex Kovalev, also two more late Shero additions, who factored into the first goal and both played a solid Game 1.

For the Pens to go up 2-0 and really crank up the pressure on the Lightning, the Pens are going to have to continue their successful breakout against 1-3-1 trap and get sustained pressure on Roloson.

The power play didn't score last game but you could tell they were buzzing.  Hell, if Staal learned how to finish, they would have scored on their last man advantage opportunity.  Everyone talks about Neal not scoring but how about Staal?  He needs to start burying those ample opportunities he's getting because you cannot afford to miss those in the playoffs.

The Consol crowd is going to be rocking yet again tonight and, if the Pens can jump out on them early, the Lightning won't have a prayer.

Hey, maybe Ryan Malone can take a couple more penalties and whine about it.

Oh and by the way, did anyone see Stamkos last game?  He must have been wearing the special "invisible jersey".
