Montreal Canadiens Fans Want Zdeno Chara Arrested

Credit goes to The Pensblog on this one.  In the wake of the NHL being...well, the NHL and doing absolutely nothing about Zdeno Chara's vicious hit on Max Pacioretty, Canadiens fans have taken matters in their own hands.

According to the Globe and Mail, polices have been fielding calls from angry Hasbs fans demanding that criminal action be taken against the Bruins defenseman.  Apparently, a local media outlet suggested the idea and the Habs fans flocked like sheep (as they usually do).

Sports Minister Gary Lunn...wait, wait a minute...SPORTS MINISTER?  That title actually exists?  How the hell do you get that job?  What does he do, watch SportsCenter (sorry...Sportscentre) and complain about stuff?  That sounds like a typical Wednesday night at my house.

Anyways, since the NHL is run by spineless lunatics who think that player safety is second to "old-school hockey" in terms of value, nothing will come of this.  Without going into a long-winded rant about head shots and the state of the game blah blah blah, this just shows how out of touch the NHL is from the general public.

People don't want to see this crap.  They want to see Ovechkin blister a wrister past a goalie, they want Crosby dekeing around three guys and going top shelf, they don't want to see some big goof like Chara break someone's neck and ruin their career.

Get a clue, NHL.
